Why Give
“Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7
We depend on God and benefit from the work of volunteers. The Center also needs money to pay our staff, operate our programs, and keep our doors open year after year. Giving financially is a great way to share in the Center’s work and to support the work of churches in the city.
The Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We depend on the on-going financial support of individuals, churches and, for some of our programs, foundations. Monthly support, large and small, provides the financial base for our work. Gifts are deductible as charitable contributions.
Ultimately, we are accountable to God to be good stewards of the funds we receive. Because we believe non-profit organizations are accountable to the public also, we are members of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, which helps Christ-centered evangelical organizations earn the public’s trust through their ethical practices and financial accountability. In addition, each year we are audited by an independent financial auditor. Audited financial statements are available upon request.

If you already are a PayPal member, or if you sign up now, you can choose a one-time or recurring donation from either your credit card or checking account.
You can use your credit card for online giving when you press the Donate Now button above. Or, to give by credit over the phone, call Charlotte at 617.262.4567 during regular business hours, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Using the Donate Now button above, sign up for PayPal membership. Then follow the instructions to qualify for and set up regular EFT payments to EGC from your bank account through your PayPal account.

You may designate your gift using the program list and staff/missionary list, and writing that name in the memo line of the check.

Designating Your Gift
After you press Donate Now, you can choose how you would like us to use your gift.
- In the space labeled “Purpose,” select the name of the program or missionary you wish to support. The names of our programs and staff and missionaries are also listed below.
- If you do not know what to choose, we suggest you apply your gift to the Center Fund, which supports all we do.
- If the name you have in mind is not on this list, and you do not wish to give to the Center Fund, please contact us.

In-Kind Gifts
The Emmanuel Gospel Center appreciates non-cash donations of items in good condition, such as clothing for people who are homeless, Christian books, up-to-date computer equipment, and office furniture. If we are not able to use your donation, we will donate it to an urban church or ministry that can.
- Clothing: If you have clothing you want to donate, please go to the Starlight In-Kind Giving page.
- Office Items: If you have office furniture or equipment, room dividers, tables, etc., that you would like to donate, please , Operations Manager, or call her at 617.262.4567 ext. 212.
- Church Supplies: Pews, podiums, pianos, organs, chairs, tables, hymn books, communion sets, etc., can be used by new and growing churches in Boston. For information about donating any of these items to churches, please , facilitator of the Greater Boston Church Planting Collaborative.
