nurturing the birth and development of Christian ministries

Ministry development is central

Ministry development could be considered the Center’s core business. We use applied research first to understand the changing city and its church systems, and then we help develop ministry projects and programs to nurture vitality in whatever ways we can.

  • Our own programs are routinely being reshaped by what we are learning, and we support even broader ministry development through our programs as, for example, we help churches develop ministries to people struggling with homelessness, support a collaboration of youth ministries, or help a new church get started.
  • EGC Consulting provides hundreds of hours of support annually to growing ministries and community-based organizations.
  • EGC further provides a level of administrative structure and fiscal conduit services to a dozen emerging ministries.
  • Our building continues to be used as a meeting space for churches, seminary classes, and community groups—a place for new churches and ministries to grow and thrive.

For many of our staff, ministry development is a primary focus, as we are constantly engaged in finding new ways to enhance the development of ministries locally and globally through our diverse relational networks.
