Welcome to the Starlight Ministries website!

Since 1990, Starlight Ministries has been equipping individuals and churches to engage people experiencing homelessness. As Starlight provides outreach, referrals to services, prayer and friendship to people who are homeless in Boston and Cambridge, we equip our volunteers and church partners to build mutually life-changing relationships with individuals on the streets.

Many of the adults we build relationships with have been on the streets for years, some for decades, and need more than access to housing, jobs or job training, and health care. They need individualized long-term care to help them set and achieve clear goals, and they feel comfortable with Starlight staff and volunteers because we are committed to engaging them where they are, not where we would like them to be.

Starlight staff and volunteers also walk alongside youth and young adults ages 14-24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. These young people often are not served by school-based or youth development programs. Often they are too old or unwilling to be taken in by child welfare, and too young for adult social services not tailored to their age group. We help these youth dream big while gaining a deeper understanding of their full potential.
