Emmanuel Gospel Center
Founded in 1938, the Emmanuel Gospel Center (EGC) is a Christian ministry that serves churches and communities in Boston, New England, and beyond. We are a nondenominational, nonprofit organization that exists to nurture the vitality of urban churches and their communities, especially as they address the concerns of under-resourced and marginalized urban residents. Through applied research, consulting, and programs, EGC works with partners to support and care for the spiritual and physical needs of all people in the city. For example, we help churches and community-based organizations create programs to open pathways to higher education for urban residents, to engage and empower adults and youth who are homeless, and to train people in both personal and business financial literacy. We also help to equip and support urban youth workers, and gather pastors and leaders together for prayer, training, and collaboration.
