Connecting and Equipping MA to Prevent, Identify and End Human Trafficking! We are teachers, business leaders, NGO staff, nurses, athletes, students, artists, musicians, lawyers, chefs, accountants, web designers, activists, neighbors, mothers, fathers, kids, friends... we are residents of Massachusetts and we stand together to end human trafficking!

Amirah (\a-meer-ah\) is a non-profit organization located in the Boston area dedicated to providing effective, whole person aftercare for survivors of commercial exploitation.

We do this by mobilizing the greater community to create safe spaces that provide opportunities for healing, restoration and re-integration.  We use individualized approaches to address the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social and vocational needs of each survivor in our care. Our care allows for survivors to engage with their community in a mutually meaningful manner.

The vision of Route One is to minister to women exploited by the sex industry on the North Shore and the greater Boston area. Through building relationships with the women, we hope to be the light of Christ and provide for physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Providing for their physical and emotional needs might include helping them leave the sex industry and securing employment. Further our goal is that they have the tools to establish a healthy lifestyle, redeem broken relationships and have a fuller view of who they are as women created in the image of God. 

This site focuses on the demand side of human trafficking and how to stop this cycle. The site includes important and helpful information on why this approach could be the answer to this major problem. The site includes articles, contacts, and ways to get involved in your community. “Demand Abolition supports the movement to end modern-day slavery by combating the demand for illegal commercial sex in the US. Conducting and disseminating research, educating policymakers, consulting with criminal justice professionals, and convening key stakeholders, Demand Abolition is catalyzing social change that reflects the dignity of all people.”

We are the Massachusetts affiliate of Interfaith Worker Justice, a network of people of faith that calls upon our religious values in order to educate, organize, and mobilize the religious community in the United States on issues and campaigns that will improve wages, benefits and conditions for workers, and give voice to workers, especially low-wage workers.

This site will connect you with many different social issues that are faced on a daily basis such as “internalized and institutional racism, heterosexism, classism, xenophobia, partner and sexual violence and exploitation as it occurs within our communities of color, immigrant communities and within our social justice organizations”. They are seeking justice for the many people who are abused in our community today.

The SONG Project introduces Songwriting to women and girls who have been marginalized by poverty, homelessness, violence, or trauma, as a tool for empowering them to tell their stories of oppression, resilience and hope in a creative and transformative way.

We believe you need to “Live gratefully, change our community, and Advocate” for the cause.

“The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) is the largest organization in New England promoting the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees. We serve the commonwealth’s one million foreign-born residents with policy analysis and advocacy, institutional organizing, training and leadership development, and strategic communications.” Their work encompasses policy and advocacy analysis, institutional organizing, training and leadership development, and communications.

We are committed to making a difference in our community by providing educational awareness and events on the issue of human trafficking in addition to seeking opportunities to assist survivors of Human Trafficking.

The Chicago Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation (CAASE) provides comprehensive toolkits for teachers, writers, churches, students, doctors, etc who want to spread the word about human trafficking in their spheres. 

Learn2Impact offers a free high school curriculum focused on social justice. The curriculum is planned out according to a semester long class schedule and includes units on human trafficking and fair labor.
